How many friendlys are left in Connecticut?
Only two Friendly's locations survive in March 2024, in all of New Haven County - Universal Drive in North Haven, and Rubber Ave in Naugatuck. The other five Friendly's still operating in Connecticut are all scattered around Hartford County - Avon, Bristol, Newington, Plainville, and Vernon.
Why did they get rid of friendly's?
Friendly's Restaurants was always considered a casual dining eatery, mostly in the Northeast, known for its signature ice-cream, sandwiches and burgers, a place to dine with family and friends. Until, that is, its restaurants started to get run-down and the menu didn't adapt to the times.
